48 Projects Across the State

SANTA FE, NM – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) awarded $52 million to 48 projects across the state through its Transportation Project Fund Program. The Transportation Project Fund Program funding helps support development and address multiple projects across counties, municipalities, and tribal government to ensure all methods of transportation remain safe, reliable, and efficient while tailored to the unique needs of each district.  Through this program, NMDOT contributes 95% of project cost, and local municipalities contribute the remaining 5%.

Local and tribal governments in New Mexico are eligible to apply for these annual state-funded grants. Eligible projects are in the following categories: environmental and other studies; planning; design; construction; and acquisition of rights of way necessary for the development of transportation infrastructure. Infrastructure includes highways, streets, roadways, bridges, crossing structures and parking facilities, including all areas for vehicular, transit, bicycle or pedestrian use for travel, ingress, egress, and parking.

“NMDOT is not only investing in statewide infrastructure projects, but through the Transportation Project Fund Program, our local entities are empowered to invest in projects that are priorities for their communities.   These critical resources allow the projects to proceed with minimal match funding and NMDOT district support,” said Ricky Serna, Cabinet Secretary.
