Infrastructure investments pave the way for community and economic development
ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation, (NMDOT) District Three recently awarded six local municipalities with a 95% match in funding. The funding is for local projects, investing a total amount of $7,600,726 in District Three Transportation Funded Roadway Projects. “Investing in local entities serves as an essential resource for enhancing roadways, bridges and airports. Without these funding opportunities, many communities in New Mexico would struggle to make the infrastructure upgrades needed to foster development,” stated District Three Engineer, Paul Brasher. In total, District Three works with three counties, 16 municipalities, including eight tribal governments. It also includes the largest Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG).
