In March 2024, Governor Lujan Grisham signed House Bill 2 into law which included $190 million in appropriations to NMDOT for roadway maintenance. Additionally, the Governor’s enactment of Senate Bill 275 authorizes the issuance and sale of $320 million in severance tax bonds in fiscal year 2025 for nine major construction projects.
