The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, is conducting an Alignment Study on NM 264 in McKinley County from the Arizona/New Mexico state line to the US 491 interchange near Yah-Ta-Hey to document existing conditions and develop highway improvement alternatives. NM 264 serves as a key corridor to the Navajo Nation, connecting communities to Window Rock, AZ and serves as a connection to US 491. A public meeting was hosted to introduce the study, the conditions identified, and receive public input.
