Virtual I-25 Escondida Interchange Project Public Announcement, CN 1102030
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, has completed a study of the Interstate 25 (I-25) Interchange at County Road 91/East Road in Escondida, New Mexico. Using engineering analysis and public input, a preferred improvement alternative has been selected to address existing physical deficiencies, upgrade drainage, improve access for farm vehicles, school buses, and local traffic, and enhance bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
The preferred alternative includes a tight diamond interchange with updated geometrics and extensions of the east and west frontage roads. The project team is currently developing the design and NMDOT is seeking construction funding.
