Closure on Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

ALBUQUERQUE – Crews are widening and reconstructing the Montgomery Boulevard bridge and will set 12 new bridge beams, each weighing up to 83 tons and spanning 168 feet, a significant milestone on the I-25 Improved project.

To accommodate this work, northbound and southbound I-25 will be closed at the Montgomery Boulevard interchange from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting on Jan. 27 for two nights. I-25 traffic will be detoured onto the Pan American Frontage Road at the Montgomery Boulevard off-ramps, over Montgomery Boulevard and back onto the freeway via the Montgomery Boulevard on-ramps.

Eastbound and westbound Montgomery Boulevard will also be closed between Culture Drive and the northbound Pan American Frontage Road. Traffic will be detoured to Comanche Road through Carlisle Boulevard and Jefferson Street on the east side of I-25 and Culture Drive and Edith Boulevard on the west side of I-25.

Motorists should anticipate heavy travel delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes when possible. These construction activities will increase overnight noise, vibration, dust, and lighting for nearby properties.

This bridge beam work marks a major project milestone in widening the Montgomery Boulevard bridge and improving safety and travel reliability along this critical corridor. Safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with the contractor to ensure that all work areas are properly marked and that access roads remain safe for all users.
