Commercial Air Flights to Angel Fire from ABQ Kick off this week
ANGEL FIRE, NM – Travelers can now hit the slopes in record time, thanks to new seasonal passenger air service connecting Albuquerque to Angel Fire. Starting December 19, 2024, Advanced Air, (https://advancedairlines.com), a leading provider of regional air travel, will offer daily flights, five days a week, between Albuquerque International Sunport (KABQ) and Colfax County Airport (KAXX) in Angel Fire. The Village of Angel Fire, (https://www.angelfirenm.gov), Colfax County, (https://www.co.colfax.nm.us) and Angel Fire Resort, (https://www.angelfireresort.com), are proud to partner on this exciting expansion of services.
The service is being made possible by a $1.4 million Rural Air Service Enhancement grant via the New Mexico Department of Transportation, is expected to boost tourism and provide better travel options for local residents to the northern New Mexico Mountains.
“The Rural Air Service Program is directly aimed at creating economic opportunities for small communities throughout the state. We are pleased to have Angel Fire be the recipient of this grant and benefit from this new flight,” said Cabinet Secretary, Ricky Serna.
The route will utilize Advanced Air’s nine-passenger King Air 350 turboprop aircraft, ensuring a quick and comfortable journey that gets travelers to Angel Fire in under an hour, far faster than the usual drive. One-way tickets are competitively priced as low as $81, making this service a convenient and affordable option for adventurers and families alike.
To mark the inaugural flight, Cabinet Secretary of Transportation, Ricky Serna, and Angel Fire Mayor, BJ Lindsey will host a media event at the Sunport on December 19, 2024. Highlights will include a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, remarks from local leaders, and the first official flight sendof

The Advanced Air team is pleased to introduce themselves to the Angel Fire (KAXX) community and inaugurate the first flight from Albuquerque (KABQ). Advanced Air President Levi Stockton will pilot the inaugural flight to commemorate the company’s commitment to air service in New Mexico.
Advanced Air will operate six flights per week during the holidays, with flights to and from Albuquerque and Angel Fire every day except Wednesday.
