Hyde Park Rd. will be subject to extended closures during the project
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Transportation along with Cutler Repaving Inc. will begin a 7-mile pavement rehabilitation project that will include new pavement and striping on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, on N.M. 475 (Hyde Park Rd.).
Work will take place from mile marker 9 to 16 and is expected to last 30 working days, weather permitting.
Phase one of this project will begin on Wednesday, September 4 and include patching and reinforcing of sections of the roadway in preparation for phase two. Phase one work will involve partial lane closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, starting Wednesday, September 4 through Friday, September 6. One lane will be closed during working hours, there will be a 12-foot width restriction in place, the speed limit will be reduced to 35 miles per hour through the work zone.
Phase two will begin on Monday, September 9, 2024. Crews will be working six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. In an effort to expedite the project, the contractor will be forced to close the road to all vehicular traffic, including bicycles, from Monday to Saturday. The road will be reopened to all traffic on Sundays only.
