Infrastructure investments pave the way for community and economic development

MILAN – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District 6 currently has 111 active projects in 19 local agencies in the amount of $77, 615, 468.27.  In total District 6 works with 22 local agencies including 7 tribal governments. 

“It is impressive how many projects we are able to collaborate with our local and tribal governments to complete,” said Lisa Boyd Vega, District 6 Engineer.   She continued, “These are instrumental infrastructure improvements and economic development investments in our local communities.

There are various funding sources that support these projects which include the Local Government Road Fund (LGRF), Transportation Project Fund (TPF), Capital Outlay, House Bill 2 (HB2), Municipal Arterial Project (MAP), NM State Funding (STATE), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and (FHWA-TAP).

  • Catron County has a total of 10 agreements totaling $3,819,032.00.
  • Cibola County has a total of 10 agreements totaling $7,808,476.00.
  • McKinley County has a total of 14 agreements totaling $11,248,218.00.
  • Sandoval County has a total of three 3 agreements totaling $3,553,921.25.
  • City of Grants has a total of 12 agreements totaling $10,831,522.73.
  • City of Gallup has a total of 9 agreements totaling $12,925,167.00.
  • Village of Milan has a total of 5 agreements totaling $8,127,055.18.
  • Village of Reserve has a total of 2 agreements totaling $856,000.00.
  • Ramah Water & Sanitation has a total of 2 agreements totaling $48,378.00.
  • Village of Cuba has a total of 1 agreement totaling $575,840.05.
  • Village of Jemez Springs has a total of 2 agreements totaling $189,833.00.
  • Navajo Nation has a total of 20 agreements totaling $4,586,052.00.
  • Ramah Navajo has a total of 3 agreements totaling $2,238,530.22.
  • Pueblo of Acoma has a total of 2 agreements totaling $2,922,171.00.
  • Pueblo of Laguna has a total of 5 agreements totaling $5,379,853.84.
  • Pueblo of Jemez has a total of 1 agreements totaling $463,085.00.
  • NMSU-Grants has a total of 5 agreements totaling $175,103.00.
  • Grants/Cibola Schools has a total of 4 agreements totaling $367,230.00.
