I-40 eastbound out of Gallup will be closed for night work
Drivers encouraged to seek accommodations
MILAN – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) in coordination with State Police will shut down eastbound I-40 at Exit 16 (west Gallup Interchange), tonight and tomorrow night from 9:00pm to 6:00am. The contractor will be performing mill and inlay work through the eastbound detour at Coolidge (Exit 44). Westbound traffic will not be affected.
Motorists are advised to seek accommodations in Gallup. Exiting eastbound out of the city will be prohibited during the planned night work. No detour is available. Traffic will not be permitted to use local routes.
