Public Meeting – On the Widening of University Avenue from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street

Purpose of Meeting
At this meeting, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Mayor Russell Hernandez of Mesilla, and
La Calerita Construction, the contractor, will be present to answer any questions. The construction team will present progress on the project as well as remaining activities and anticipated traffic impacts.

Purpose of Project
This project includes widening of 1.419 miles of NM 101 (University Avenue) from Avenida de Mesilla to South Main Street. It also includes new curb and gutter, new sidewalks, a new multi-use path, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramps, new drainage structures, storm drain, new signage and roadway striping, new lighting and railroad crossings.
