Que Linda is a new resource at the Department of Transportation (NMDOT) to support local governments to build local beautification programs that encompass the eleven strategies of the statewide Que Linda beautification toolkit.

QUE LINDA REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a full-time coordinator position focused on a local beautification program.
  • Participate in the statewide Que Linda Cohort Meetings, and Que Linda beautification program technical assistance meetings.
  • Develop a formal local beautification program plan.
  • Organize, at minimum, 3 events and 2 contracts connected to the Que Linda strategies.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Applicants should familiarize themselves with the Que Linda Strategies to understand the eleven activities encouraged in the development of a local beautification program.   Not all eleven activities must be included, but ALL activities funded by Que Linda must be connected to a Que Linda strategy.

All items of the application require responses.  If items are left blank it will be considered an incomplete application and will not be reviewed by the selection committee.

Application must include the following to be considered complete:

  1. Grant narrative responses,
  2. Budget Proposal, and
  3. Letter of Support and Sponsorship from the governing body.

This is a one-time solicitation, and all applicable procurement laws will apply.  The funds will be disbursed and must be fully expended by June 30, 2026.

APPLICATION SCORING

Applications will be scored by an NMDOT selection committee.  The committee will score the applications on the following criteria focusing on building the capacity of the community to create a sustainable, formal program that will last beyond receiving funding from Que Linda and that the proposed activities and budget show connection to the Que Linda strategies and requirements.

Community Need 25 points
Commitment to Sustainable Beautification Program 25 points
Willingness and Ability to Meet Requirements 25 points
Connection to the Que Linda Strategies 25 points

FY25 grantees in good standing applying for a second year of funding will receive priority through completion of an additional application question.

Connection to Implement Formal Beautification Plan 15 points
