SkyFiesta of Las Cruces Announces Tickets On Sale for Oct. 25 Air Races, Airshow, Expo & Festival
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — August 27, 2025 — SkyFiesta of Las Cruces today announced that tickets are officially on sale for its full-day aviation celebration on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Las Cruces International Airport. The one-day event brings together pylon air races, an action-packed airshow, hands-on expo exhibits, and a festival atmosphere—all in one New Mexico destination.
Built for fans who “chase the extraordinary,” SkyFiesta blends high-speed air racing, jaw-dropping aerobatics, interactive exhibits, and live entertainment—and this year shines a spotlight on the 80th anniversary of World War II with historic aircraft, veteran crews, and dramatic pyrotechnics, culminating in a thunderous Wall of Fire.
The Fastest Motorsport on Earth—Now in Las Cruces
SkyFiesta’s headliner is Sport Class pylon air racing, with pilots flying wingtip-to-wingtip at 250–350+ mph, just 50 feet above the desert floor, around a marked course of left-hand turns. Races are conducted in heats (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Medallion), start with a paced in-air “chute,” and typically run 5–8 laps—short, loud, and unforgettable.
The early racer lineup features accomplished competitors and remarkable homebuilt speed machines, including Andrew Findlay (Lancair Super Legacy “One Moment”), Bob Mills (Rocket 6 “Rocket Six”), Steve Senegal (RV-4 “Miss S”), Kevin Eldredge (Glasair III “Gryphon”), Colleen Sterling (Lancair Legacy “Aquilla”), and more—representing a cross-section of elite pilots from private, military, airline, and aerospace backgrounds.
Airshow Headliners & Spectacle
Beyond the race course, the airshow features:
- Randy W. Ball FighterJets MiG-17 Demo Team—Cold War icons in a rare, high-octane formation.
- Roll’N Thunder—a 400-HP Pitts Fury dueling a jet car in an air-versus-ground sprint.
- A crowd-favorite Pyro Demo ending with a massive Wall of Fire.
