In coordination with the Federal Highway Administration, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is planning an intersection improvement project at NM 333 and NM 217, just south of Interstate 40. The intersection frequently experiences traffic congestion and has been the site of several serious crashes, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours.

At this public meeting, the design team will engage community members to share information about the proposed safety and traffic flow improvements to this intersection. The team will present findings from a 2025 analysis of the intersection and outline preferred traffic calming measures. Currently, the NMDOT is considering moving forward with a roundabout as the preferred improvement for the intersection of NM 333 and NM 217.

NMDOT recognizes that community feedback is a vital part of the project process and helps ensure the improvements reflect local needs. All comments received during the public comment period, at the meeting or through the mail, email, and online comment form, will be reviewed by the project team.  Please share them with us by May 2, 2026.
