Roswell Air Races
The skies over Roswell, New Mexico, are set to come alive with the thrill of air racing as the National Championship Air Races prepares for an exciting new season. In a pivotal gathering on January 14th, Class Presidents, FAA partners, and leaders of the Roswell community convened to map out the future of this beloved event.
Volunteers Needed for the Air Races (September 10-14)
The New Mexico Pilot’s Association is coordinating a group of volunteers to be Wing Walkers (people escorting aircraft on the ground) for the show planes. This is a fun and important job and a good event to participate in. If you volunteer for a minimum of three days for at least 4 hours per day then you get a free weekly pass and a free week stay in the volunteer RV sites (dry camping only). You can fly in and camp at the camping area close by the aircraft parking but there will be no airplane under the wing camping. There will be a shuttle to get you and camping gear to the site. It looks like private airplanes will have to arrive before 8 am and depart after the last event (~6 pm).
