SUMMARY:Public Meeting for the I-40 Bridges over Tijeras Arroyo\, CN A302380
DESCRIPTION:THANKS FOR ATTENDING THE PUBLIC MEETING!\n						The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT)\, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration\, is conducting a study for I-40 Bridges over the Tijeras Arroyo near the 1-40 Interchange with NM Highway 333.  We hosted an in-person public meeting to present the recommended improvements and receive public input before finalizing the recommendations. \nIn the study area\, there are four bridges spanning the Tijeras Arroyo that were built in 1978 when I-40 was constructed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the condition of the existing bridges and to develop recommendations to address physical deficiencies. Based on the data collected\, the condition of the bridges ranges from satisfactory to poor. The preliminary recommendations include: \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\\n					\n						\n						Closure/removal of westbound off-ramp bridge – this bridge is in fair condition; however\, expensive repairs would be needed to extend its service life a few more years.
