SUMMARY:NM 333/217 Intersection Improvement Project - CN A312290
DESCRIPTION:PROJECT OVERVIEW\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						\n						In coordination with the Federal Highway Administration\, the New Mexico Department of Transportation is planning an intersection improvement project at NM 333 and NM 217\, just south of Interstate 40. The intersection frequently experiences traffic congestion and has been the site of several serious crashes\, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours. \nIn early 2025\, NMDOT analyzed the intersection to identify ways to improve safety and traffic flow. Several potential alternatives were analyzed for their ability to improve the traffic operation and safety of the intersection. Alternatives that were analyzed included signage improvements\, signalization of the intersection\, and implementation of a roundabout \nWhile all of the options could help\, analysis indicated that implementing a roundabout provided the greatest level of improvement.
