I-10 Bridges Replacement Project in the La Mesilla Valley area - Learn More!

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is moving forward with the replacement of four Interstate 10 bridges in the Mesilla Valley area of Doña Ana County. Two bridges are located at the I‑10/Fairacres Road interchange (near milepost 136.95), and two are at the I‑10/W. Boutz Road interchange (near milepost 140.72). As part of the project, the bridges and surrounding roadway between mileposts 135.3 and 141.66 will be upgraded to meet current safety and design standards.

Why This Project is Needed?

Built in 1971, all four bridges are showing signs of age and wear. Replacing them will improve safety, enhance roadway stability, reduce future maintenance needs, and provide more reliable long-term travel along this section of I-10.
